Real GDP growth measures the annual percentage change in constant-price output. It is a growth rate, not GDP in US dollars, economic size, GDP per person, or an investment return.
A higher growth rate does not establish a larger economy, higher income per person, or a particular investment outcome. National accounts can be revised and aggregate growth does not separate oil from non-oil activity.

Consumer price inflation
For the latest common WDI year label, 2025, UAE records 1.25% and Oman 0.97%. The difference (UAE minus Oman) is 0.28 percentage points.
Individual series endpoints: UAE 2025; Oman 2025. The comparison above uses their common year, which can be earlier.
CPI inflation is the annual-average percentage change in the consumer price index. It is not the latest monthly year-on-year headline, a policy rate, or the price level itself.
The difference describes inflation rates, not the relative cost of living: each rate uses its own national consumer-price basket and weights. Lower inflation can coexist with a higher price level.

Reading the UAE–Oman comparison
Why can the chart show a later year than the headline comparison?
The chart and complete table preserve each country’s available observations. The headline uses the latest exact year available for both countries. An unmatched endpoint remains visible, with “Unavailable” in the other country’s table cell; it is not silently compared with a different year.
Is the gap a percentage change?
No. Subtracting two percentage-valued growth or inflation rates produces a difference in percentage points. It is not a return, a currency adjustment or a measure of economic size.
Does lower inflation mean a cheaper country?
No. Inflation measures the change in each country’s consumer-price index, using its own basket and weights. Comparing these rates does not compare the countries’ price levels or purchasing power.
